Join the Crew – We're on the Quest for Middle School Success!

You know the old adage about the middle child always getting forgotten? When it comes to paving the way for success in high school and beyond, the middle school period couldn’t be more important, and it definitely shouldn’t be overlooked. It’s a highly developmental and transitional period when kids are learning more about who they are, what they like, and how to be responsible.

In Texas, middle school is also when students begin to explore the endorsements that will guide their field of study through high school. It sounds like a tall order, but we’re here to help. That’s why we’ve developed a suite of middle school resources just for this important group of Texas students!

Because the spring semester is when the endorsement selection process is in full swing for Texas eighth graders, we’ve made sure that our tools are updated and accessible. We’ve been championing our middle school resources with vigor since January, and we thank those of you who have helped us provide more middle school students with help and support.

Since January:

• Over 6,000 new students registered for MiddleGalaxy or MapMyGrad, our interactive career-exploration and course-planning tools.
• Nearly 500 educators downloaded the Middle School Curriculum Guide, our TEKS-aligned course-planning tool written by educators for educators.
• Over 100 folks downloaded the Middle School Family Guide, newly revised last week, which helps parents guide their student to success.

With 1.2 million middle schoolers in the state of Texas, we know it’s important to keep striving to reach every student, no matter where they come from or where they’re headed. If you’re a middle school educator, counselor, or adviser in Texas, or you know one, we encourage you to share our resources. Good news travels fast, and we want Texas middle schoolers to know that they’ll be supported in the pursuit of post–high school success, starting NOW.
